This pilgrimage church in Crngrob was built circa 1250. Beneath its elegant neo-Gothic portico, a 15C fresco delivers a pictorial sermon on Sunday duties and prohibitions. Inside, the high altar (17C) is the largest in Slovenia. In the north nave, a vestige of the Romanesque church, there is another medieval fresco. The high belfry next to the church houses a fresco depicting St Christopher, by Janez Gosar de Kranj.
