This nature reserve for migratory birds is set up in the freshwater lakes that formed in the old quarries near the banks of Strangford Lough. It is mainly in autumn and winter that it is a destination for birds from the Arctic regions, but in summer the welcome centre provides a wealth of information on birds and migration phenomena.
