This long bay on the west coast of Guernsey is ideal for swimming and windsurfing. The numerous pink granite rocks rising out of the crystal-clear waters also make for good scuba-diving. At dusk, in the fading light, they become almost eerie, resembling animals (lion, camel, etc). The old German battery at Grandes Rocques beach commands a splendid view over the crescent-shaped sandy bays that unfold along the coast, among which the lovely Port-Soif Bay.
