Ancestral Temple of the Chen Family

Guía Michelin
Vale la pena el viaje
Monumento religioso
La opinión de la Guía Michelin
Comprising three reception rooms, a meeting room and a temple dedicated to the ancestors of the Chen family, this late-19C complex is typical of Confucian-style architecture. The lavish ornamentation reflects the family's wealth. The crests and ridges of the roof are decorated with a multitude of coloured ceramic sculptures portraying lions, dragons, warriors and traditional characters from Chinese opera. The temple is now home to the Museum of Folk Art of Guangdong.
