As soon as you arrive, you are struck by the magnificent façade of the mosque and its equally elegant marble portico. This is the most beautiful vestige of Beyazit I's imperial complex, completed in the early 15C. Seriously damaged by several earthquakes, apart from the mosque only the türbe (mausoleum) of Beyazit I, the madrasa and the ruins of an aqueduct remain.
