This immense square attributed to the architect Albert Schickedanz is surrounded by the Museum of Fine Arts and by the Art Gallery. In the centre a column and behind two colonnades in a circle arch with a set of statues and sculptures: the monument to the Thousandth Anniversary. It has always been a great place for meeting for mass demonstrations, popular celebrations or rejoicing.
