Less well-known and less frequented than its Manhattan counterparts, the Brooklyn Museum of Art remain one of the richest in the city. The museum, which hasn't stopped growing since its inauguration in 1897, boasts a fine Egyptian section, splendid ethnographic collections from Africa and the Pacific, along with an interesting display of European and American art.
