The former monastery (1733-1744), a fine example of colonial religious architecture, was transformed into a cultural centre by the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Around the cloister is a permanent display featuring quality temporary exhibitions with very diverse themes (artistic, scientific, ethnological, historical).
