Berck, a genuine seaside resort, offers a wide range of activities for young and old alike, along its 1,400ha sandy beach. Doctor Debeyre Promenade skirts the coast southwards to the water sports centre, passing by the maritime hospital, the lighthouse and the sailors' Calvary. A hiking path continues as far to La Madelon harbour, via Groffliers beach (2hr return). The vision of the sea lilac in blossom over the salt marshes in mid-April is exquisite!
