Unfolding along the west coast of Huelva is a coastline of gleaming white beaches, such as El Portil (where the scenery of the protected lagoon reserve is spectacular) to El Rompido, punctuated by the mouths of several rivers. The Costa de la Luz, which runs from the Portuguese border to Punta de Tarifa, takes on a unique character in Huelva province: the sky seems infinite, and the coast merges with the mysterious Atlantic horizon.
