The huge beach (18km long) and white-sand dunes of Praia da Princesa have made the Ilha de Algodoal famous. Located 4km north of the village, the area is perfect for a lovely walk via Praia do Farol (admire the fishermen's vertical nets) or, if the heat is too intense, for a ride in a horse-drawn cart. The restaurants in the middle of the beach serve up prawns and fish platters.
