Against the backdrop of the superb Rofangebirge and Karwendel massifs, the striking green waters of this lake offer perfect summer conditions for water sports (swimming, sailing, windsurfing). Pleasure boats travel between Maurach (Seespitz), Pertisau et Achenkirch. Beyond Maurach the corniche road continues to provide fine views of the summits of the Karwendel, rising round Partisau on the opposite shore. Achenkirch marks the north end of the lake, beyond which lie forestry and rocky outcrops.
