At more than 2 600m altitude, Point Imperial is the highest viewpoint in the whole of Grand Canyon National Park. Facing the eastern part of the canyon, it has a bird's-eye view of the sumptuous Marble Canyon, at the point where the Colorado River climbs northwards. It also gives you the chance to admire, in the southeasterly direction, the Little Colorado River Gorge. The colours are particularly striking at sunset, when the rock looks as if it is ablaze.
