The prettiest fajã on the south coast has plenty to justify a diversion: a pretty little chapel, a swimming area, but above all Europe's only coffee plantation, made possible by the local microclimate. The produce from this small plantation (110 kg/year), made from Arabica plants brought from Brazil in the 19th century, can be tasted at Café Nunes. You can also take the opportunity to visit the casa de Artesanato Nunes, just next door, where the local weaving tradition is perpetuated.
