This bumping Latin café straddles a corner of the Schuylerville section, and when the weather permits, grab a seat in its palm tree-shaded sidewalk retreat. Inside, find a friendly bar, ceiling fans, and tropical fronds. Owners Ruben Rodriguez, Troy Perez, and Kevin Alicea have deep roots in the Bronx, and they’ve hit upon a great formula here—and with their second spot nearby, Cabo. The mojitos go down easily as you peruse Chef Ramon Perez's daily specials. He deliver a litany of hits, whether it's the sweet and creamy maduros or the fork-tender lechóncito ramped up with a kicky sour orange mojo. Cool things down with the excellent tres leches. On Tuesday nights, follow the lively tunes emanating from around the way to dance the night away.
