This little ramen shop from the chef behind the highly popular Tokyo outposts isn't new, but even after years of operation, lines still form before the doors open to snag one of the 28 communal seats in the small, no-frills room. Only true aficionados can say if the ramen is worth it, but the tori paitan is one undeniably spectacular bowl, packed with springy, chewy noodles and outstanding duck chashu in a luxuriously creamy and umami-rich broth. Just know you’ll be asked to slurp it down quickly: you're allotted one hour and the hungry, huddled masses outside are anxious to take your seat.
