Having sold De Loohoeve, Marleen and Jeroen Brouwer moved a little further north to Groningen, where they have given the Theresia Chapel a facelift. The sobriety of the church has been preserved, as have the beautiful stained-glass windows, which are now complemented by a stylish interior design. This is not your run-of-the-mill restaurant: upon entering, you are led through the state-of-the-art kitchen. The couple working side by side in the kitchen have joined forces to better express their creativity. We already know them to be chefs whose originality and sense of inventiveness know no bounds, and here at Noor, they continue to refine their personal style. Their celeriac dish – cooked in a salt crust and combined with ingredients including yoghurt and salted lemon – is a firm favourite with diners. Another tempting option is the Anjou pigeon served alongside the subtly contrasting flavours of blueberry, fried kale and a potent jus infused with ras el hanout. Words like "exuberant", "meticulous" and "adventurous" spring to mind here. That also applies to the carefully devised vegetarian set menu, which showcases "everyday" vegetables. Head to Noor for an inimitable dining experience!
