From my communication with locals it seems this is the city of Orense's top hidden gem. The food did not disappoint. The freshest Galician specialties with a touch of modern flair. Telling by the photos in the entrance with world renowned personalities we picked correclty. We had a fantastic 7-course prix-fixe that we asked the chef to prepare for us. Fantastic! The service matched many two Michelin Star restaurants I've been to. The sommellier paired our dishes perfectly as well...and you never forget that Jamon Iberico de Bellota the waitress carved for us with her white gloves.. Impressive water and world tea menu as well. We ate at La Reixodora (1 Mich Star) the night before and enjoyed it however strongly believe A Taberna deserves their star...especially when I compare to the One-stars we have in New York City.
A few more International Wines would be great to see on the menu. The chef was very graceful and humble. If he was more outgoing, he has the makings of a celebrity chef.
